Bird with broken wing I found a baby bird ... now what?

Fledgling Birds:
It is normal behavior for fledgling (baby with feathers) birds to be hopping around on ground.
The bird is just learning how to fly. If this is the case please make sure the bird is safe from cats, dogs, other predatory wildlife, and people then leave the bird alone. The parents will feed it.
A bird in distress will be gasping for air with it's mouth open.

Is the bird hurt or sick?
(Unable to flutter wings; bleeding; wings droop unevenly; weak or shivering; attacked by a cat, dog, or other animal; gasping for air)
