Fledgling Birds:
It is normal behavior for fledgling (baby with feathers) birds to be hopping around on ground.
The bird is just learning how to fly. If this is the case please make sure the bird is safe from cats, dogs, other predatory wildlife, and people then leave the bird alone. The parents will feed it.
A bird in distress will be gasping for air with it's mouth open.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Alan Stockman, our webmaster and IT expert. Alan felt a deep kinship with animals, especially squirrels and gave generously of his talents to the Wild Forever Foundation. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He will be greatly missed.
